Despite writing much on child rearing, Ellen White's son Edson White would grow up to be a 'problem' child and would often lie and be deceitful. However, when he was 44, he accepted Jesus as his saviour and converted to Adventism. He would then go on to do a remarkable work, predominantly in the South.
